As a shareholder Vereniging AEGON represents in a balanced manner the direct and indirect interests of AEGON N.V. and its group companies, insured parties, employees, shareholders and other relations of these companies.
The Vereniging does so by holding AEGON N.V. securities and exercising the associated rights, including the voting rights. The Vereniging’s income consists of the revenues from these securities.
In 2007 Vereniging AEGON developed a secondary objective. Pursuent to this objective, Vereniging AEGON has founded the Leyden Academy on Vitality and Ageing (LAVA) and became a partner of Stichting ILC Zorg voor Later (Foundation ILC Care for the Future) (see Secondary Objective).
